In December, Melinda and Simon went to a cool play area at a mall that has oversized food for the kids to play on. Simon seemed to appreciate the bacon. Can you really blame him?

As December began we learned something new about our baby. He can't resist a good pile of tinsel!

Simon was so excited about decorating for Christmas that he unloaded this entire bin for us.

Simon had his first tooth-brushing at the beginning of last November. Technically speaking, shouldn't it be called "teeth-brushing"? Or would that be the same as "combing your hairs"? Either way, he thinks the strawberry/banana flavored edible Elmo toothpaste is pretty good stuff.

Our friends let us borrow this Johnny Jumper last November and Simon loved it. There is something to be said for toys that both restrain and entertain the little guy.

Does anyone out there know how to make full bodied pajamas that resemble this sloth? Just looking at this picture makes me want to take a nap, so somehow I think sloth pajamas could be the cure for insomniacs around the world. I can't help but yawn and rub my eyes and scratch the back of my neck everytime I see this!

Simon being adorable for a picture with Daddy.

  1. You'll have to tell me where you went to play! Sounds fun!

  2. We went to Woodland Mall in Grand Rapids. It was a really great play area; Simon really liked it!

  3. He's such a photogenic little guy! Is he getting close to walking? Lots of people told me it gets harder once they walk, but I think it's easier. I'm glad to see he's still as tan as can be. I'm jealous!

  4. No; he's not getting close to walking yet. He'll cruise around the furniture, but lately he's taken even more to crawling, and he doesn't even want to hold our fingers and walk anymore; he just wants to "walk" on his knees!
